What’s the difference between a Bullet Proof Vest and a Bullet Resistant Vest?

A bullet resistant vest, unlike a bulletproof vest, is not actually bulletproof. The fact of the matter is that bullet resistant vests do not guarantee protection against every hazard. Nothing is absolutely unbreakable; even a manhole cover isn’t indestructible. A bullet can penetrate a vest that has been designated to resist them in extremely rare circumstances. A serrated edge or something similar to it might be on the bullet. Bulletproof vests do not render the user invincible.

When a bullet proof vest is worn each day, it loses the protective capability quicker than one that sits on a shelf. The body armor must be examined for any signs of damage – creases, tears, odors, and burns – regardless of how short or long it is worn. The vest should last five years if properly maintained.
